ModernGut provides evidence-based programs for people diagnosed with digestive conditions such as IBS, created by leading gastroenterology clinicians and researchers. Our programs guide you through every step, from diagnosis to treatment options, so you come away informed, empowered, and in control of your health.
ModernGut was founded by Dr. Wendi LeBrett, a UCLA-trained gastroenterologist and one of the most widely followed physician educators in digestive health (@socalgastrodoc). She built ModernGut out of a conviction that reliable medical information should be as accessible as the misinformation competing with it. In 2025 she delivered a keynote on exactly that message at UEG Week in Berlin, Europe's largest gastroenterology meeting, drawing more than 12,000 delegates from 118 countries.
Dr. LeBrett is also an accomplished researcher, published in leading journals including The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Gastroenterology, and The American Journal of Gastroenterology. She is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
